IRIS BECKER M.A

Founder & Director | Representative of the State of Baden-Württemberg in Maharashtra | Representative of the City of Karlsruhe in Pune | Head of Contact Office of University Federation SouthWest Germany (HfSW)

With more than 30 years in the field, Iris Becker is an expert on German-Indian collaboration ventures and founded Let’s bridge IT in 2000. After completion of a Master of Arts, she worked for 10 years on behalf of German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) in projects of  international development cooperation in Asia and Africa. Moreover, she was eight years in the management director’s board of a software company, including three years in London.

She has developed a deep understanding of the diverse cultures of the world and India in particular.

Her skills and knowledge not only help her to successfully support and accompany German-Indian economic cooperation, she furthermore directs Cross Culture seminars in companies and is a regular guest lecturer at the Universities of Tübingen, Konstanz and KIT Karlsruhe. She is also a member of the board of studies at the prestigious Fergusson College in Pune/India.

Since 2010 she is Chapter Head of the German Indian Roundtable in Freiburg

WINNIE KULKARNI

Representative of Karlsruhe in Pune

Winnie Kulkarni is the woman of the first hour, since she has been working in the Marketing and Cooperation Office of the City of Karlsruhe since day one. She currently works as a Business Development Manager from Bristol / UK. She actively maintains contacts with organizations, associations and the press and ensures that all interesting news from Pune are regularly conveyed to our German contacts.

After studying English at the University of Pune and graduating with a „Bachelor of Arts“, she completed her“ MSc International Management“ with focus on „Business Analysis and Management“ at Loughborough University, School of Business and Economics, UK. She speaks both Marathi and Hindi, as well as fluent English and German.

ZUBIN KABRAJI

Representative of Karlsruhe in Pune

Zubin Kabraji is native to Pune, but being an Army Officer’s son, has travelled all over the length and breadth of India. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (1976) and a Diploma in Management (1980).

Zubin has over 42 years of experience with Indian industry of which almost 30 years are with industry organisations and associations. He was located in Singapore with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and has served full tenures with the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry as their Secretary General (2003-2008), as a Regional Director of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (2008-2016) and as Secretary of the Aluminium Casters’ Association (ALUCAST – 2016-2021). The US Government also sent him to their Global Leadership Programme in the year 2002.

Zubin is an intensely networked person, makes friends on a regular basis and believes that service must be given with a smile and value addition must be an integral part of life. He is highly experienced at creating strategic partnerships and networks.

He is a keen sports person with a passion for cricket, table-tennis, hockey and golf with accolades in all. He is an avid coin collector and philatelist with some award winning collections and presentations.

ASHISH PANDIT

Ashish Pandit was born & brought up in Nagpur, India. After completing his schooling from a prestigious school in Nagpur, he went on to complete his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology VNIT (erstwhile VRCE), one of the top Engineering Institutes in India. He has completed his Masters in Engineering from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow (UK) on a full fellowship offered by Association of Commonwealth Universities (UK).  

Ashish has a experience of over 24 years and he has been working in various multinational companies in India and abroad in executive management roles. After working in UK & Continental Europe for over 11 years, he is now settled in Pune, India. He brings in the unique blend of local knowledge about India and Maharashtra along with the deep understanding of European Work Culture. He is interested in the working of human mind and has also completed his Masters in Psychotherapy and Counseling.

He has keen interest & experience in building partnerships between organizations across the globe and strongly believes in building a beneficial ecosystem where everyone prospers.

BETTY HUBER

Betty Samuel has recently joined our team. As representative of the University Federation SouthWest Germany (HfSW) she encourages Indian students who are interested to study in Germany and supports Institutional tie up’s between India and Germany. This contact office in Pune is an exciting opportunity for the group of Universities as it is their first overseas office which is specializing in recruiting quality students for southern Germany. Betty has more than 13 years of working experience which was specifically towards Singapore and Canada for Indian Students. Betty holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration with Madras University (Tamil Nadu). During her project work there, she developed her passion to help students look for a career overseas when the industry was beginning to open up. This helped her to turn into a people’s person. She engages in devotional songs and yoga for her spiritual journey. She enjoys cooking, especially Italian, and travels twice a year to different countries for food festivals. Her favorites are Oktoberfest & Dumpling festival, India.
